- Lunch for the first day was a short trail off the main trail along the lake. The trail actually has markers along the shoreline of the lake.
- After our second river crossing we came across this bluff forcing the river to turn.
- On this day we followed the Heart River, from its origins, Heart Lake, until it flowed into the Snake River. Look at the massive burn areas, remember this is 18 years later.
- This is another look at the destruction from the fires. As you can see, we ended up with pretty good tans. Nobody really got burned, thanks to sunscreen!
- This was a very large section of the river that was our last crossing for the day. From here we hit another trail to find our campsite for the night.
- This is me trying to smile since I have the river shoes on. Fortunately, the river tends to numb your feet!
- This is the creek that runs by our campsite for the night.
- "Kitchen" area for campsite two.
- Bob getting his tent situated and cleaned up for a relaxing evening. He stayed up to see the stars that night and said they were unbelievable.
- Tom and my area nestled within trees farther down from Bob.
- Either the deer got stuck in the trees or someone decided to put the skull in the tree to scare off evil spirits, either way, a pretty large animal had those antlers.
