- Virginia Lake with the sunrise
- Always like getting the mirror reflection of the mountains in the lake.
- Looking across Virginia Lake. We were camped in those trees closest to us on the other shoreline.
- The trail leading up to Sand Mountain Pass before we started going through the rocky terrain.
- Looking down the valley we just traversed, making our way to Sand Mountain pass
- Thought all the rock that fell off the peaks was really neat. We walked right along the bottom of the rock slides.
- Panaromic view of the range as we climbed to Sand Mountain Pass
- The peaks in this area of the park are not quite as jagged as the days before
- Taking a picture at one of the turns on the switchbacks up to Sand Mountain Pass
- Neat unnamed lake further off the trail. We got lucky and were climbing this wall in the morning shade.
- almost to the pass. You can almost see the sign in the middle of the picture in the saddle. Unfortunately, we would end having to continue climbing from here.
- Taking a break on Sand Mountain Pass, looking down the other side. Not trails lead in this direction.
- Neat rock formation on the peak of this mountain, just off to the left of Sand Mountain Pass.
- From Sand Mountain Pass, looking down into the valley we just ascended from.
- Another view of the mountain range from the top of the pass.
- Break time on the pass.
- As we continue up from Sand Mountain Pass we get a better view of the unnamed lake.
- Pass number 3, no name.
- Looking down to Sand Mountain pass. You can see if we had gone in the other direction, the trail went pretty straight up as well.
- Looking over at our third pass of the day from the second one. We are going to go over in the middle of this pictures.
- From the second pass, we turn around and have to go down almost 1000ft and turn around to gain it all back.
- Just before you head up to the third pass we came across this small pond\lake in the boulder field.
- from the small pond\lake, looking up at the pass we have to go over. The third and last one of the day, but we did not know what was in store on the other side.
- Looking up to the second pass; the saddle left of center of the picture. You can see the trail leading down to where we are now.
- As we ascend to the third pass, this is a look back at the small pond\lake and the second pass.
- Made it to the top of the third pass in three hours. The rock on this peak had a greenish hint to it. We wondered what caused that.
- There is Imogene Lake, our destination, but look what we have to go through (back up this tomorrow). Look closely and you can see all the switchbacks.
- Zoomed in view of Imogene Lake
- Quick break on the top of the third pass with Imogene Lake in the background.
- Better picture of the number of switchbacks you will be taking to get to the lake.
- Made it through the switchbacks and at the bottom of the wall looking up at the third pass.
- Imogene Lake and our camping spot for the night. This is basically the view from my tent door.
- Imogene Lake
- Imogene Lake
- Imogene Lake
- Imogene Lake
- Looking at Imogene and just in awe at how these trees can grow in the smallest cracks within the boulders.
- Campsite 4 before the rain comes in
- Crap, the rain is moving in over Imogene Lake
- Double Rainbow over Imogene Lake when we had a break in the rain. Taken from my tent!
