This is from the bench or pass on the other side of the ridgeline. Looking down at the lake and another awesome valley.
Again from the bench, looking across the valley towards the pass that we conquored a couple of hours ago.
This picture turned out really nice. This is looking back at a wall in that beautiful valley from the bench. I was really amazed at how beautiful this valley really was.
Looking back up the valley right before we turn down towards the end of the trip and begin heading down. Fantastic picture.
Looking at another section of the valley wall where there are waterfalls from the glaciers sitting high in the walls of the valley.
Me and the happy valley! Wind was howling here, so we could not wear our hats here.
Nice picture of the different peaks and the rock that makes up those peaks. Not a cloud in the sky!
The green valley with all the peaks and glaciers. Walked most of this valley along the ridgelines.
Bottom of this valley as we began our turn. Interesting how the smoke shows in some of the pictures depending upon which direction you took the pictures and where the sun was at the time.
Leaving the ridgelines and beginning to head back down towards Two Medicine Lake.
Looking out towards the end of the beautiful valley where all the previous pictures were showing. The valley takes a turn to the right and I can only imagine the beauty around there.
The smaller lake along the cliff wall is called No Name Lake and was going to be our campsite for the night. With only 5 miles left to go before we are done with the trip. The bigger lake is the top of Two Medicine Lake.
This is looking down the trail that we will be taking. From here the topology is quite a drop and we will be doing some steep down hilling from here to the valley floor.
As we descend I thought this was an awesome view and gives you an idea of the Mars looking landscape we have been hiking through as well as the awesome distant peaks.
Getting closer and back into the tree line or at least vegetation area.
We have made the descent and are getting closer to Two Medicine Lake. We have a choice of which side to go on, so we pick the left side since Tom has been on the other side in one of his previous trips here day hiking.
This was looking back on the trail we just came from. The peak and its right side was were No Name Lake was located.
Along the trail back to the car, we had a nice break in the trees that allowed me to capture this peak and Two Medicine Lake.
Two Medicine Lake and the surrounding peaks. This was one of the most beautiful areas, but most tourists go north of here.
Another awesome shot of Two Medicine Lake, its shore adn surrounding peaks.
I thought all the peaks in this area were really awesome.
At the end of our 64 miles of backpacking and as we were driving back to Great Falls, Montana were graced with this moon as the sun was going down.
What a great sunset to end this trip with!
